a little "helper"

Emma has found her way into the pots and pans drawer, the Tupperware drawer (still call it that from growing up with Tupperware, even though now it's all something else)
and has tried her very best to sneak into the cupboard under the sink. Now she has finally found the baking pan cupboard.
This one might be the most fun of all!

why Emma was quiet

She was so quiet for a few minutes. I thought that maybe she was in her room, and was keeping an ear out for anything that sounded suspicious. But it was quiet. Too quiet. So I went looking ....

... and found her in our room, surrounded by books pulled from the shelf.

John has been "reading" (she will only pay attention for a line or two and then moves on) to her a bit at night, all from books on this shelf. Apparently she remembered and wanted another story

Emma is learning new things every day. Even since Christmas we have seen her try to keep us with us more, help Mommy get clothes out of the washer, "walk" along the walls, stand alone and even wobble her way to a step (but that may have been an accident).

One of the things she has learned in the last two or three days is that her tongue doesn't have to stay in her mouth: it can stick out of it too. And other people have tongues that can stick out, and it's funny to try to "get" people's tongues. It's a good thing that she likes getting her hands washed!

Emma has started to dance and clap along when she hears music, especially theme songs to TV shows. The other night we were watching the Dick Van Dyke Show on hulu.com, and Emma started to groove with the music. :) She was near the end of the song by the time I got the camera going and her dance was winding down, but I hope you'll enjoy it!
