ready!

Our little one seems to already be expressing his/her personality - an active and energetic one!
Little Ian/Kate has also been very stubborn about getting into - and staying in - the "proper" position to be born. For the past month we have been working on getting Baby to turn, and now it finally has! We're ready!

teething is over (for the present)

...and we

...are so
...much
...happier
...now!

She was so intent on getting the coffee table clean!
The funny thing is, as Emma and I were watching the video together she waved good-bye to the "baby" even though she was too busy to wave on the video. :)

pictures from a year ago

Where did you come from baby dear?
Out of the everywhere into here.
Where did you get those eyes so blue?
Out of the sky as I came through.

What makes the light in them sparkle and spin?
Some of the starry spikes left in.
Where did you get that little tear?
I found it waiting when I got here.

What makes your forehead so smooth and high?
A soft hand that stroked it as I went by.
What makes your cheek like a warm white rose?
I saw something better than anyone knows.

Whence came that three-cornered smile of bliss?
Three angels gave me at once a kiss.
Where did you gets this pearly ear?
God spoke, and it came out to hear.

Where did you get those arms and hands?
Love made itself into bonds and bands.
Feet, whence did you come, you darling things?
From the same box as the cherubs wings.

How did they all just come to be you?
God thought about me, and so I grew.
But how did you come to us, you dear?
God thought about you, and so I am here.

We are so very glad that you are here, little miss Emma Grace. You have made our last 15 months so wonderful!

mimicking Mommy

The past few days I have been spending a bit of time lying on the floor with my lower half and feet elevated. Emma thinks this is just great, because then I am down at her level where she can come and put her little face over mine and talk -very loudly sometimes - at me. And lie on my fairly cushy tummy.
Last night I looked over at Emma, and saw this:

She was happily playing and talking!

Mother's Day 2010

(Emma is still trying to understand the concept of smiling at a camera when there isn't anyone behind it)

Emma learned to sign "mom" on Saturday - such a nice Mother's Day gift!

she keeps learning more "tricks"

Emma is getting better and better at standing on saddle of her "horse". And she is so proud of herself.
